My Wedding Dress

Okay - I love reading Kelly's Korner blog and I'm happy to participate in her "Show Us Your..." each Friday! Today it's the tour of wedding dresses and since Jason and I are approaching our 3rd wedding anniversary, it was so fun for me to look through our wedding pictures. Jason and I were married on Aug. 18, 2006. The candid pictures I'm sharing are pre-wedding preparations taken from my friend who was on duty for taking random pictures of me getting ready and the digital professional pics are on CD, being neglected. Here we go!

I found my dress on the first dress hunt my mom, best friend and I ventured on in Jan. 06. I love the beading and the organza overlay over my dress.

I loved our wedding day - it was the best day of my life because I became Jason's wife and all the celebrations have given me so many wonderful memories of the moment we shared our vows and celebrated with our friends and family. I wanted to look beautiful for Jason and my dress was exactly what I envisioned.

I can't wait to look at everyone else's wedding dresses!

I loved when you wrote, "I wanted to look beautiful for Jason..."
Isn't that what we all want? So sweet! I love the back part of the dress!

RELATIONSHIP THINGS

1. Get birthday dates for all family members.
2. Send birthday cards to family members.
3. Visit our parents once/month.
4. Host our parents once/month at our home.
5. Call Grandpa & Grandma once/week.
6. Visit Grandpa & Grandma on the months that we don't have a planned family get-together.
7. Plan a girls' weekend with the ladies in my family.
8. Spend a day each with my brothers and sister-in-laws.
9. Spend a day each with my mother and mother-in-law.
10. Plan a progressive dinner.
11. Call my friends on their birthday.
12. Create new Christmas traditions with Jason.
13. Go to a “guy” movie with Jason once every season.
14. Call Jason’s bluff and let him throw me in a body of water without protesting.
15. Go on a date-night with Jason once/month (0/31 months).
16. Have a family night each week with Jason and without the laptops, movies, or TV.
17. Go to 95% of Jason’s soccer games (which allows me to exclude his 11pm soccer games J).
18. Write and send a timely thank-you note for every gift that we receive.
19. Babysit our friends’ or other family members’ children for free so they can go on a date-night.
20. Plan a tea-party for all the ladies in my family.

BODY THINGS

21. Finish two body cleanse/detox programs.
22. Get a massage.
23. Run a half-marathon.
24. Run either the Reindeer Run or Turkey Day Run.
25. Maintain my current weight as of January 1, 2009, or within 5 pounds.
26. Grow my toe nails.
27. Grow my finger nails.
28. Take a sleep test.
29. Give Jason a massage 1x/week.
30. Go on a walk with Jason in the good-weather months 2x/week.
31. For one week/month, eat the required daily amount of fruits and vegetables according to the Center for Disease Control.
32. Eat no sweets for one week/month.
33. Limit myself to one sweet/day.

RECREATION THINGS

34. Read a book of poetry.
35. Visit Estes Park, CO.
36. Bike all paved trails in the nearby park reserve.
37. Read 10 non-fiction books.
38. Travel to one state I've never been to before.
39. Go to a concert in the park each summer at one of the Minneapolis parks.
40. Keep a dream journal.
41. Go kayaking.
42. Play the piano 30 minutes a week for one month.
43. Play the piano 30 minutes a week for the month of December.
44. Put on my wedding dress again.
45. Take a boot-camp class with Jason.
46. Pull an all-nighter with Jason.
47. Watch all Rocky movies with Jason.
48. Get a home run in our summer softball league.
49. Read at least 10 of the titles on Classic & Contemporary Literature.
50. Read every book on A Christian Woman's Reading List.
51. Learn to crochet a scarf.
52. Eat at 5 restaurants that I’ve never eaten at.
53. Take a non-credit history, economics or religion class at alma mater.
54. Take a creative writing class.

HOME THINGS

55. Hang wedding pictures in our living room.
56. Organize our mess room.
57. Organize the garage.
58. Donate or give away most of my books.
59. Tailor pants to fit me right.
60. Finish Christmas shopping before December 1st.
61. Donate clothes at the end of each season.
62. Do something about the kitchen cabinets (paint or buy new).
63. Spend 30 minutes each Sunday to plan the upcoming week’s evening meals.
64. Reduce grocery spending by 25% each/month.
65. Make one of Jason’s favorite meals from his growing up years each month.
66. Compile at least two weeks worth of good, healthy dinners that I can whip up without having to scour online recipe search engines.

CAREER THINGS

78. Join the Special Library Association of Minnesota.
79. Attend two events hosted by the Special Library Association of Minnesota each year.
80. Attend two events hosted by the Minnesota Library Association each year.
81. Attend one St. Kate’s MLIS alumni event each year.
82. Read/review each St. Kate’s LIS course syllabus and readings.
83. Correspond with my professional network on a quarterly basis.
84. Get assigned to one project at my current company that is not directly related to my current responsibilities.

COMMUNITY THINGS

85. Get involved in a local political activity/event/group.
86. Volunteer at Second Harvest 3x/ year.
87. Go loafing with our church group 2x/year.
88. Volunteer at an event sponsored by our church.
89. Volunteer at the Robbinsdale Women’s Center.
90. Plan a volunteer event for our small group.
91. Host a neighborhood get-together each year.
92. Host a neighborhood holiday gathering at our home.
93. Go to our local high school’s football and soccer game once/season.
94. Go to one event each year of our alma mater’s.
95. Get 5 other friends/family members to start a 101 things list.
96. Put together a gift box for Operation Christmas child each year.
97. Attend the Brain Cancer Walk/Run at Mayo.
98. Host a book club once/year.
99. Officially support a ministry/missionaries that are close to our family.
